Technology

Sea Ray has invested more capital into technology in the last ten years than any other builder in the industry. Computer systems that aid in the production of new boat models are constantly updated and refined. Our state-of-the-art facilities feature the latest innovations in hull construction and gel-coat application.
Every Sea Ray is conceived at our 70,000-square-foot Product Development and Engineering facility. This facility is unmatched in the marine industry, with 250 of the top designers, engineers and craftspeople in the country. Sea Ray’s top-of-the-line technology and automation gives them the freedom to constantly dream of possibilities and then make them happen.
Every boat undergoes the most extensive testing and validation procedures in the industry, culminating in six weeks of constant testing in the water. When designing boats, Sea Ray stops at nothing less than the standard of excellence.
Sea Ray engineers use the latest modeling software, scale models and full-size mock-ups to analyze every feature of a new design. They modify, experiment and study a boat from every angle, resulting in a fit and finish second-to-none.
We are also leading the industry in ergonomics. We place full-size computer mannequins in every design, walk them through every inch of the boat and even study their seating positions and line of sight. That explains your comfort in a Sea Ray.
Sea Ray’s computerized 5-axis mill, the largest in the industry, uses the CAD/CAM data to precisely create master patterns from foam molds that are accurate to 1/2000 of an inch. Thus, our hulls are perfectly symmetrical.
Our investment in the latest technology also allows us to build stronger, safer and more reliable boats. Laser-guided robots apply uniform gel-coats of the exact consistency and thickness to the hull and deck. Our robots perfect the fit and finish with each cut they make, and our RealData quality control process allows us to thoroughly inspect and track every part.
We could make a boat the way other boatbuilders do, but we never will. Our standards demand a higher level of precision. That’s why we continually invest in new technologies that allow us to produce a boat that is stronger, safer and more reliable.
